Despite the opinions of the other animals from the savannah, Hendriks inspires them to take a risk and try something new, only to discover new friendships and new ways to have fun in the sun! The Morning Hendriks Lost His Happy is about a self-expressed hippo who tries to figure out where his happy feelings went. When Hendriks goes in search of his Happy with the help of his savannah friends, he discovers that he didn’t lose his Happy after all. Hendriks learns that he is the creator of his own feelings, as he rediscovers what makes him feel happy. In this story of the Being True to Yourself series, Hendriks the hippo searches, while Malachite the African bird surprises you with where he turns up! ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Stephanie Foreman is a writer who loves to inspire young readers, parents, caregivers, and teachers to use their imaginations to explore, discover, learn, be empowered, and grow. She strongly believes in the power of stories to teach important life lessons and advocates for children to know their power, believe in themselves, and trust and express what is true in their hearts. Stephanie is also a Registered Professional Counsellor, Educator, and Behavior and Autism Interventionist in private practice. She is a dedicated mother of three and lives on Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada, with her son. Her love of reading and creating bedtime stories with her children inspired her to write the 'Being True To Yourself' series. In her free time, she enjoys music, hiking, dancing, learning, and spending time with her family and friends. Stephanie's books are sure to leave a lasting impression on readers.

ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATORS
Audrey Reibin is an aspiring artist, living in Lethbridge, Alberta. She has always had a passion for art and has been a commissioned artist since the young age of 9 years old. Audrey received the 3D Award of Merit from the Highschool Arts Alive and Well Program and the University of Lethbridge New Media Award of Excellence. She plans to attend a Private School in Vancouver, BC to study digital art. This is Audrey’s first children’s book and she is excited to be working with the author, bringing life to the characters through her joy of digital art.
Chelsea Lewicki is an artist living in Victoria, BC. Before starting illustrations, Chelsea spent five years at The University of the Fraser Valley, and The University of Victoria attaining a BFA Major in Visual Arts. After a successful start to her career teaching art for small Victoria businesses and local Art Councils, Chelsea now looks towards freelance illustration work and pursuing her MA in Art Therapy in the future. Chelsea enjoys bringing creative thought to life not only for the writers, but for young readers too.
Carla Macgillivray is an Early Childhood Education Program Coordinator in Victoria, B.C.She has a M.Ed., B.F.A. and B.A. as well as her certification as an ECE, IT and SN educator. Carla has illustrated, worked in the graphics design industry and taught as an early childhood educator. Currently, she develops curriculum for an early childhood program.
